Contemporary Art of the SouthwestJudy Youngblood is an active artist whose work spans paintings, fine prints, and mixed media. In the last five years, Youngblood has had solo exhibitions at the Amarillo Museum of Art, Amarillo, Texas, Flatbed Press and Gallery, Austin, Texas, William Campbell Contemporary Art, Fort Worth, Texas, and the Ellen Noël Art Museum, Odessa, Texas. Youngblood shows her work regularly in solo and group exhibitions organized by William Campbell Contemporary Art, Fort Worth, Texas. Her work is frequently selected for invitational and juried exhibitions internationally, nationally, and regionally. Recently her work has been in National Weather Center Biennial, 2012 Delta National Small Prints Exhibition, the 8th National Turner Print Competition, New Prints 2010 at IPCNY (International Print Center New York), and New Acquisitions to the Permanent Collection, the Wichita Falls Art Museum, Texas. Youngblood’s work is included in many public and private collections including the Brooklyn Museum, New York, Dallas Museum of Art, Texas, the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, Washington, D.C., the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Texas, Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, The Arkansas Art Center, Little Rock, Arkansas, the Mint Museum of Art, Charlotte, North Carolina, and many others.

Artists’ Homes & Studios. 2015, Schiffer PublishingJudy Youngblood is a Professor Emeritus of Art at the University of North Texas, Denton where she taught printmaking and book arts. She earned her M.F.A. (Master of Fine Arts) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Additionally, Youngblood was a Fulbright Scholar at Stanley William Hayter’s Atelier 17 in Paris and has had two Artist Residencies at the MacDowell Colony.

Ashley Rooney’s Contemporary Art of the Southwest (published in 2014) and Artists Homes and Studios (published in 2015) feature multiple pages about Judy Youngblood’s artwork.  While Contemporary Art of the Southwest is a survey of her artistic work, Artists Homes and Studios highlights her work, the process used to create it, and the studio where she works.
